Year 2 visit Ford Green Hall

Come back in time with us to 1666... it's September 2nd a great fire is beginning to spread across the city. We visited Ford Green Hall to meet Samuel Pepys and discover just how quickly the fire spread and what made it so easy for the flames to 'jump' from house to house. We discovered that the houses were so close together, and mostly made from wood, so this helped the fire to move quickly through the buildings... the only option was to tear them down!  We also explored all the different things that Samuel thought it was important to keep safe from the flames and spent some time looking at some different artefacts from the time period. We had a fabulous day and have learnt so much about the fire. You'd be amazed at how much we all know now!
