Brampton Museum (Y1)
Year 1 have had a fabulous morning visiting Brampton Museum and stepping back in time to meet Florence Nightingale.
We visited a doctor's surgery and learnt about the use of Leeches in medicine historically and even the tools used to remove teeth and amputate limbs.
Next, we visited the chemist from Florence Nightingale's time. We collected medicine needed for the hospital. Finally, we visited the hospital and discovered it was dirty, smelly and the soldiers had to lie on the cold, hard floor. We helped Florence to clean up the hospital. What a historical morning.
