Year 5 visit Blists Hill
On Wednesday 17th May, Year 5 took a trip back in time to the Victorian times on our trip to Blists Hill. We had such a super time as we were transformed back to over two hundred years ago. Our fun-filled day included watching how posters were printed using old-fashioned machinery, watching how the carpenters worked and the wonderful things they were able to make as well as watching the baking of bread and biscuits and what equipment they would use to bake.
One of the most exciting
parts of the trip was being able to exchange our money into currency that they
used in the Victorian times including pennies and shillings to pay for things
that we wanted to buy such as: sweets, buns and bread, toys and some fish and
chips! Finally, we also got to experience some fairground rides and games that
children would have gone on and played with their friends and family.
